O serviço de varrição e capina manual de guias e sarjetas será ampliado para 17 bairros nas regiões leste, norte, sul e sudeste de São José dos Campos, a partir de 27 de maio.
A ampliação visa atender os moradores nos bairros regularizados.
Passam a ser atendidos com os serviços, uma vez por semana, os bairros:
Serrote, Chácara Boa Esperança, Jardim Ebenezer, Jardim Primavera, Portal do Céu, Residencial Dunamis, Santa Lúcia, Santa Rita, Setparque, Vila Matilde (leste), Chácara das Oliveiras, Freitas, Mirante do Buquirinha (norte), Floresta, Portal dos Pássaros, Setville (sudeste) e Jardim Mesquita (sul).

A Urbam instalou um novo ponto de apoio à varrição no bairro Jardim Mariana para atender aos funcionários que atuarão na região leste.
Serviço de varrição
Mais de 400 agentes ambientais realizam o serviço de varrição usando os itinerários georreferenciados, removendo os resíduos sólidos encontrados nas sarjetas das vias pavimentadas, nos canteiros centrais, nas calçadas públicas e nas lixeiras verdes, conforme programação divulgada no site da Urbam.
O serviço de varrição recebe melhoria constante, com ampliação no atendimento aos bairros e inovações, como um plano de varrição georreferenciado, duplas de varrição, monitores de bicicleta e a retomada dos serviços da varredeira.
É feita também a capina manual nas vias pavimentadas removendo as ervas daninhas das sarjetas, guias, calçadas públicas e entorno de pontos de ônibus.

. Mantenha sua calçada limpa. A varrição das calçadas é de responsabilidade do ocupante do imóvel fronteiriço, conforme lei municipal nº 7815/09

. Recolha as fezes do animal de estimação em saco plástico e deposite nas lixeiras
. No trânsito, respeite a sinalização dos cones para segurança dos agentes ambientais
. Separe os materiais recicláveis para a coleta seletiva. Cuide para que o seu lixo não fique espalhado na calçada
. Não deixe entulho e restos de construção na calçada. A cidade dispõe de PEV´s para a entrega gratuita desses resíduos
. Não disponibilize equipamentos eletroeletrônicos nas calçadas ou em lotes vagos. A Urbam tem serviço gratuito de recolhimento nas residências (agendamento pelo 156).
